Lake Mburo National Park


The park is situated approximately 80km from Masaka and takes approximately 2 hours to reach by car. It is notable for supporting a wide range of antelope species (it is the only place in Uganda where impala are still found), Burchell's zebra, hippo, buffalo, etc. In addition the park is noted for its wide variey of bird life, over 310 species having been recorded.

Ssese Islands
This group of islands in Lake Victoria are an undiscovered paradise for those wishing to spend a few days relaxing on a tropical beach, fishing or bird watching in the densely vegetated forests. The island of Kalangala can be reached from Masaka in a little over 2 hours using the free ferry from Bukakata. On Kalangala there are several resorts and campsites offering a variety of accommodation.
  Lake Nabugabo
  This small, but beautiful lake only 16 km from Masaka is a peaceful location to relax or watch the abundant wildlife.

  Bigo bya Mugenyi
  A large and archaeologically important excavation said to have been the work of a Cwezi prince. The site is near Ntusi which   is between a 2 and 3 hour drive from Masaka.
